Hello! I’m Monica Crews, a Bronx native fueled by a deep love for music, especially old-school hip-hop. With a 31-year career in education, I have made many mistakes and learned a lot over the years. I try hard to forget my first class and always hoped that my students would forget about it, too. 

I’ve worn multiple hats—from a dedicated mom and teacher to an innovative administrator. As a teacher, I embraced infusing music and real-life experiences into my classrooms to engage students. 

After relocating to North Carolina, I continued my mission of blending fun with education, witnessing remarkable growth in my students’ test scores. Transitioning into administration, I brought my own twist to teaching and learning, focusing on empowering students from diverse backgrounds. 

Now retired, my goal is to share the strategies and insights that made my teaching fulfilling and family life rewarding. Through my blogs and online teacher resources, I invite you to join me on a journey of motivation, enlightenment for parents, and understanding the ‘whys’ behind educators’ actions.
